New Furniture

Bradley finished the TV stand he was making out of the old wood from the futon frame and it looks so great!

Basically we unscrewed the whole futon frame, he made some cuts and screwed it back together. The back panel is a scrap piece of plywood we had in the closet. We had to buy the stain since I wanted it to be really dark. So he primed it, stained it, and finished with polyurethane. The wood looks so nice though!

We even repurposed the legs of an old Ikea desk for it. My old desk now sits on cinder blocks, so he cut the legs down to 5 inches and (on my suggestion), wrapped sisal rope around them. I am so pleased, it looks so much better than before when the TV was just sitting on an old crate. We lined up some of Brad's cds under the stand because it hides the cords that you can still see behind it. and the empty spot to the right of the electronics is where we are going to put a record player when we get one (found a $150 one, just waiting til we have the money). We were both so excited about how nice it looks that we spent a long time cleaning the apartment after that, hah. Brad did a few other things for me like hanging hooks for towels in the bedroom, hanging up a few frames that we had.

But then we went and saw Prometheus and were SO disappointed. It was pretty crappy. I wont say much in case anyone wants to see it but I'd say save your money and rent it.
